The Data Directory was developed in 2011 by a summer Climate Fellow at Clean Air – Cool Planet in an effort to streamline the acquisition of data needed to identify community assets and characteristics vulnerable to climate change impacts. Recognizing that success in adaptation will be achieved through a strong partnership based on trust between technical assistance providers and local decision-makers, the Climate Preparedness Data Directory was created with technical assistance providers in mind (e.g., the planning community, engineers, state and federal agencies, non-profits, etc.).

The Data Directory is a spreadsheet that provides a route to multiple formats of information including PDF maps (for point and talk purposes), unprocessed GIS files (for analysis purposes) and reports (for background information). It contains information categorized by “Hazards,” “Ecosystems,” “Societal,” and “Demographic.”
